In the aftermath of a tornado, workers may be involved in a variety of response and recovery operations. The Tri-State Tornado of 1925 traveled 219 miles, spent more than three hours on the ground, devastated 164 square miles, had a diameter of more than a mile and traveled at speeds in excess of 70 mph. It was the deadliest tornado in Bangladesh's history. The storm completely destroyed a number of towns and caused 695 deaths. It swept eastward from the Daulatpur area into the severely drought-stricken areas of Saturia and Manikganj Sadar, cutting a swath 10 miles (16 kilometers) long and 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) wide. The change of not sounding sirens is now the people can sound the sirens. Now with the government allowing the National Weather Service to give us the warning of a tornado approaching, Meteorologists can save lives and reduce the death toll and we can be safe. At 7 p.m. it hit Glazier, Texas, some 14 miles from Canadian, killing 16 people and destroying 25 structures.
